I am often asked how do I protect my empath? So many people are struggling with unwanted emotions of others on top of their own. They are unable to comfortably walk into shopping centres without being overwhelmed by the emotions and energy of the people in the centre. Crying often around other people for no reason at all. Feeling lost or losing themselves amongst the emotions that overload their thinking.

These simple practices will help you protect your empath. Daily routines put in place will make you feel better and processing and owning your own emotions will set you free.

 

Build a protection bubble to shield to protect your empath from others.

The simplest way to protect yourself from the energy of others is to practice white light protection. This is where you meditate and ground your energy to the earth then surround yourself in a white bubble of protection. It is called White Lighting.

Close your eyes for a few moments and imagine there are roots growing out of the soles of your feet deep into the earth. Next imagine a huge egg shaped bubble of white light around you. Build this light until you feel it surround all of your auric and etheric fields. Ask your angels to help you if you are struggling or call on the Violet Flame Protection Prayer. When you practice this often it will become a simple process that you can snap your fingers and tell yourself to white light.

 

Wearing Labradorite to protect your Energy

Labradorite is my favourite protection crystals for empaths as I call it Teflon. It allows you to still use your empathic skills to connect to other people’s energy so you can feel it but it then slides right off. I do not do any spiritual work without wearing it. Therefore, I am always able to maintain my energy and protect my wellbeing.

By using this crystal in your work you do not lose any of your connection, but you do release all the emotions of those you connect with daily. It puts an energy shield around you. This shield allows the cords that connect you with others and their emotions to slide away when you leave them. For those empaths who find themselves delegated to sounding boards and counsellor’s to all their friends and family it is most effective.

 

Cutting cords daily with Selenite

For every person you meet or walk passed everyday, you connect an etheric cord to their energy. This is extremely draining for empaths and a heavy burden to carry. My favourite practice to protect my empath is to make sure I cut all of these connection cords daily. Do this practice at the end of the day before you go to sleep. You can also use a Selenite rod/chunk/wand around your auric field like metaphorical soap. Call on Archangel Michael to help you with his sword if you feel overly weighed down. Do this each day and notice how different you feel.

 

Work through and clear your own emotions

When you feel overwhelmed or loss – sit and ask yourself is this energy mine? When you do you will know if you own the energy or not. It if is not yours tell your spirit guides and angels thank you I no longer need this please take them away. Do the practices above and reset your energy.

If the energy is yours – ask yourself – what is this teaching me? Find a journal and start to write down what you need to know about the emotions you are feeling. Name them, ask where they come from, what can I do about it, do I want to stay feeling this way etc. Ask yourself anything so you can understand what it is there for you. Then ask yourself is it current and do I need to work through to heal myself or is it past and am I ready to release it and choose something better.

If it is past emotions – once again say “Thank you for showing up, I now release you and choose to feel (somtthing different) instead”. Then sit down and choose what you want to feel that is different or show yourself how that is not longer your truth. Highlight your new choise with affirmations and remind yourself how much different you are now to where you were before. Doing this you will find yourself again and realise how powerful, happy, and strong you really are.

 

You are in charge

Finally, as an Empath you are in charge of your energy and self-care is very important in your spiritual growth. Set up a simple daily maintenance program for yourself. Put your needs ahead of everyone elses and ensure you are fit and healthy always. If your Empathy is totally overwhelming and you are losing control – you can also activate a light switch to turn it on and off at will. You will not lose your gift altogether but you will give yourself peace and quite when needed. It is ok to do this for yourself. You are definitely in charge you just have to say so.
